Pear & Havarti Salad with Walnut & Honey Dijon Mustard Dressing

 

 

 

This salad has some classic flavour.  It makes a nice fall salad, but you can have it all year round. The havarti can also be changed up for brie too.  This salad can be eaten as a meal; it pairs nicely with chicken as well.  Enjoy this salad as a culinary adventure for your taste buds.  The salad dressing recipe also goes well over other salads and can be a great marinating sauce for baked chicken. Enjoy!

 

  • 1 head of Romaine Hearts Lettuce chopped

  • 1 Pear Finely Sliced

  • ½ cup of Havarti Cheese Cubed (Cumin or Herb infused Optional)

  • ¼  cup of walnuts halves

 

Dressing:

  • 1 Tbsp of Honey

  • 1 Tbsp of Dijon Mustard

  • 4 Tbsp of Olive Oil

 

Rinse and chop the romaine salad. Finely slice the pear. Finely slicing the pear adds a nice light flavour and texture. Cube the Havarti cheese. Prepare the walnut in halves or chop to your preference of bite –ability. Prepare Salad Dressing. Mix 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of Dijon Mustard and 4 tbsp of Olive Oil in a bowl.  Presto, simple and delicious. Assemble the romaine, pear, havarti cheese and walnuts and drizzle over the salad dressing.
