H. pylori typically infects the stomach and intestines, but it is also commonly found in the mouth, because there's no way to prevent the bacteria from migrating up and down the esophagus but the bacteria can, at any time, become active enough to cause or exacerbate a number of gastrointestinal ailments, notably gastritis, a chronic inflammation of the stomach, and can lead to peptic ulcers.
The recommended dosage for Mastic Gum is 2000 mg a day, it is not recommended for prolonged use.
